Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom: Release issues
Presently, the movie will release on December 20, 2023, after the number of delays due to the Pandemic and other post-production issues. It was gathered to release on December 16, 2022, but was planned for March 17, 2023.
Warner Bros. adjusted its release scheduled due to the impact of the epidemic on the workload of visual effects vendors. It was then moved to December 25, 2023, when Warner Bros. Discovery was trying to spread out marketing and distribution costs.
The plot of the movie rotates around Aquaman being constrained to secure Atlantis from destruction after an old power is unleashed. Manta gets ahold of the magical Black Trident to unleash great evil on the surface and water worlds – and avenges Aquaman for killing his dad – and Aquaman and Orm reluctantly team up to stop him.

Everything Else We Know:
The film is directed by James Wan, who also directed the first Aquaman film.
The screenplay is written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Will Beall.
The film is being produced by Peter Safran and James Wan.
It has been confirmed that the film would release in IMAX, 3D and Dolby Cinema.
The first part of Aquaman released in 2018 earned US $1.150 billion at the box office and the Lost Kingdom is expected to follow the same route 3. There are expectations that this movie would surpass US $1 billion at the global box office.
While the Aquaman (2018) was in production, Jason Momoa conceived a story line for the second part that he sent to Warner Bros. Pictures Group.
It was in December 2022, the Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Warner Bros. wanted to end the Aquaman film series and recast Momoa as the character Lobo after Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. In January 2023, Momoa stated that he would “always be Aquaman”, but felt that he could also portray other characters. Subsequently, in the same month, DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Safran said there was a high chance for Momoa to repeat his role in the DCU, but no confirmation on the character was made.
There would be no other artist who would be playing multiple characters, if they had to cast Momoa as Lobo he could not portray Aquaman in the DCU. James Gunn asserted Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, alongside The Flash, would lead into the DCU’s first film Superman: Legacy (2025). Wan later commented that the second film would help set up a sequel and expressed some interest in directing it after a long break.
Wan disclosed in an interview that the film would not connect to any previous films as it was not certain if Momoa’s movie would come before or after The Flash.
In conclusion, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is a highly anticipated superhero movie that has been delayed several times due to COVID-19 pandemic and post-production setbacks. The movie features an ensemble cast of talented actors and is expected to be a box office success.
